C.R. Laurence 3M® fire barrier sealant is a water-based, intumescent, premium, latex-based sealant offering remarkable fire execution plus a non-halogen formula. Furthermore, the exclusive intumescent property (expanding when warmed) means that as cable and pipe insulation is consumed by fire, 3M® Fire Barrier Sealant expands to fill and hold the entrance closed. As little as 1/2″ (13 mm) can efficiently firestop the opening. Bonds to concrete, wood, metals and cable jacketing. No mixing required. Dries tack-free in nearly 10 to 15 minutes, and it is paintable after a 72 hour cure. Just nominal amounts necessary to fill the void.
