These CRL Foam Windshield Support Tapes have been used in the past as a support device when using medium viscosity urethanes, but is now a required item when replacing numerous windshields that need additional sound proofing in order to keep wind noise to a minimum. Not using this foam sound tape can lead to customer complaints of elevated wind noise. CRL Foam Windshield Support Tapes retain most of its height to create more glass-to-urethane contact area.
CRL Foam Sound Tape with adhesive on one side, 1/4″ (6 mm) FC250, 5/16″ (8 mm) FC312, and 3/8″ (10 mm) FC375 allows you to reposition the windshield after the glass has been set in place. CRL Foam Windshield Support Tapes with adhesive on two sides 1/4″ (6 mm FD250R, 5/16″ (8 mm) FD312R, and 3/8″ (10 mm) FD375R will increase initial adhesion strength. Its aggressive adhesive bonds to pinchweld and glass, and its high density neoprene sponge foam bends easily, forming a smooth finish on the inside of the car.
